Thank you so much, Jeff. I didn't expect to get an opportunity like this since most of the swans were on the far side of the lake.. I got lucky :)

Wonderful image and story Heather. The swans look beautiful against the vibrant blue water. Nice to see this family surviving the migration south together.

Thank you so much, Debra. They seem to be surviving very well and the cygnets are nearly full grown. I like the fact that Swans stay close together and the adults keep a close watch over their young. It makes them easier to photograph too :)

Great shot Heather. That strong blue is just perfect for the nice birds. Your writing about them is music to my ears. Sharp focus on the front row with the grey cignets with a pink beak. And they seem to smile looking at you. You are quite good at shooting the beauty of a moment.

Thank you so much, Yves. We had a chilly wind that morning and I had to work my way through the brush and wild rose bushes to get a good view of them but Swans are always worth the effort and freezing hands :)

Description
Luckily for me this beautiful family of Trumpeter Swans made an appearance on my side of the lake this morning. There were quite a few of them on the far side of the lake taking a well earned rest break on their migration journey southward. It's always exciting to see them with their young cygnets and to listen to them communicate with one another. Their unique trumpet sound is always music to my ears.
