What a great pose with the 'I dare you' stare he was giving the Magpie who did well to back off. Nice lighting and detail on the Eagle too, Debra, he stands out beautifully here. Not something we get to see very often and you captured it very well!

Thanks Heather your feedback is always appreciated. I was a little uncomfortable taking the picture with the carcass in it but it was sort of hidden in the grass which helped to make it easier.

You capture there a very nice moment Debra. Perfect focus on the eagle. Like very much the lighting in the back. Appreciate that the carcass is just enough visible to relate to the story. Great one .

Thanks you for the much appreciated comments. I agree with you I was very careful not to show too much. I actually left before things could have gotten uncomfortable. All was gone from the area a couple of hours later.

Description
While fending off a Magpie this Bald Eagle had pulled the Raccoon carcass from the shoulder of the highway down into the ditch without too much difficulty. The Magpie flew back and forth over the Bald Eagle a few times and then decided to perch in a tree until the Eagle had his fill.
