Wonderful shot Yves. I like the Blue Jay against the blue sky and the clean composition. That 70-400 is a very versatile lens and you know it well.

Thank you very much Debra. In most case Mother Nature do the setup and it is a delight to do the shooting. This summer, on that new site, one very nice thing was added. Encounters with lots of beautyful persons. Couldn't ask for more.

Heather Mellon

Yes, the perfect tree topper, lol. Very nice capture of this jay, Yves. Excellent focus and detail here and he stands out very well against that lovely sky. Not an easy shot to get either.

Yves Langlois

Thanks Heather. I also like the huge amount of cones. He was quite far for the 400mm. A little croping was needed. A bird against the plain sky usualy look fine.

I don't see blue jays at the tops of trees often, Yves. Maybe they can't get Robins out of the way. Very nice shot! Excellent background for the Jay.

Yves Langlois

Here they use the top of young evergreen trees. May be you'r right. There are many robins on that site.

Description
What about replacing your next Christmast tree topping star by an all natural blue-jay. It will also alert everybody in case of intrusion or fire. Taken at the Island of the marsh (Magog lake) in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley.
