Very nice to see the cormorant in flight stretched wings up just above the water. Great focus and timing Yves. The blue colour and the reflections really add a nice element to this capture.
Thank you Debra. The Drummond dam is the place for cormorant. I always take new shots at them. The blue was the gift of the day.
Super flight shot, Yves! Beautiful water tones with the streak of blue reflected from the cormorant's tail which adds a unique and colorful detail to the image. It's especially nice to see one in flight since the only view I get of them is in the tree tops at a local park.
Thank you Heather. I can't explain that special blue that morning, but I appreciate the gift. I now they (a gang) usualy stand on big tree tops and the tree finaly die. I never see them on trees. here along the small river they stand on rocks or fallen trees.
It looks built for speed, Yves. You did well to freeze it. I like the yellow in the main birds beak, the orange on the reflection and the blue on the tail and water.
Thank you very much Harold. I am better this summer for bird in flight shots. About the blue : on most of the 54 shots taken that morning the water shows that very special blue. The tail must have it because of the water on it. I love that blue. Unfortunately I don't know how it is produced.
great capture of this fast flying cormorant. They are amazing to watch as they skim the water. Well done
Thank you very much Clifford. I am getting a little better with those flying bird shots.
