Thanks Heather, the tamarack are such a soft needle that they actually were falling asleep in the tree nestled nicely on a branch.

Description
This curious female spruce grouse loved the sound of my camera as I was taking pictures. She would turn her head from side to side listening to the sounds and then went back to eating the tamarack needles. Female spruce grouse are intricately scaled with brown, buff, and white.
