Thank you Clifford.. It is quite common to capture them drying wings. But the adult and the young in that nice pose on a white rock with a good a reflection : That is a more unique image.
Cormorants like to dry their wings this way after fishing. I've only ever seen them in such a pose high up in the trees so it's especially nice to see them perched right above the water. They couldn't have chosen a better rock to perch on from a photographer's perspective and you've captured the scene perfectly. A beautiful image, Yves!
Thank you Heather. Agree with you, I am use to see them drying their wings. For me this shot is a real delight because of the pose that combine a young and an adult. Bacause we see just what was needed from the adult and because It is the first time I shoot the drying posture from the side.. Of course the colorful young one contrasting with the black older one couldn't be better.
Great action shot Yves. The two Cormorants look like they are having some fun in the sun. The rock and the reflection add a lot of character and texture to the image.
Thank you Debra. Well, I feel very lucky to have captured that pose of the two cormorants. The young one is very beautyful and proud looking and the adult we see from the back is showing exactly the right parts at the right place to put a certain effect to the image.
Excellent shot, Yves! Nice dark background supports the lighter, minimalistic subject. I like that the head shows on the darker cormorant and that the wings give the impression of action. The refection from the rock helps to fill the composition.
