A beautiful capture of this sandpiper.. one of my favorite shore birds, they nest on our dugout each year. He stands out so nicely against the muted background tones and textures.. and the composition is perfect. I love that this image is all about the sandpiper going about his day. Very well captured, Yves!

Thank you very much for nice comments Heather. I usualy try to keep the subject as natural as possible. Whith a little help from Mother Nature I usualy succeed.

Super shot Yves, I like how you captured the Sandpiper moving along the edge of the stones and water looking for food. The stones add a nice amount of interest and texture. The gentle fade of the stones into the water moves ones eye throughout the image to the curve of what looks like a larger submerged rock. The soft blueish grey water colour is very pleasing.

Thanks for the nice comments. This part of the Drummond dam trail have very shallow water with pebbles rocks. I like that difference between dry and watered rocks. The large curved rock in the water sure bring something to the image.

Description
That type of bird is not easy to identify. I was lucky though, this guy is the only one with a nice white ring around the eye.
