Nice to see the full view of the area, I like how the tree branches overhang the river, very welcoming feeling. Could be inexperience or did the branch start to shed leaves after the nest was built. Follow up on family would be much appreciated. Very nice story and capture Yves.
Thank you for the nice comment Debra. Heather made me change my mind. Her explanation suits me very well. It does not have to be the true one. As long as I believe in it I am happy with it.
A great shot and interesting view of the nest, Yves! It might have been her best option at the time because there's a lot of competition out there and there's a good canopy above the nest that provides quite a bit of protection from the elements. It might also be more difficult for predators like squirrels to reach the nest. The kingbirds stay on their nest site longer than most birds so the fledglings should be well along once they leave it.

Agree with you Harold. This is a real mistake to have put the nest in plain sight and over the water. May be the mother has no experience at all and nobody told her the basics. I will follow the evolution of the story.
