Love the contrast of colours against the plank of wood. The strip of orange along the wings reminds me of sunset colours stretching along the horizon. Beautifully captured Heather.
Thank you so much Debra. They're like a flash of orange when they fly across the landscape and I've chased a lot of them without any good results because they almost always fold their wings upon landing. I think the heat slowed him down for this shot :)

Very nice exposure, Heather. You always take a great photo of them. I would love to see some of these butterflies on Haida Gwaii. Our moths aren't so colourful.
