Outstanding with all the lush greens, very inviting particularly during the heat wave here in the Alberta

Jenny Stevens

Lovely rich colours and a reflection that is equally as lush.

Wally Lutz

Tell me that's a rising trout and this shot hits it out of the park!

Could very well be Wally - a trout: brown, speckled, rainbow . . . there were many breaking the water and creating rings. But then perhaps it has a more exotic origin. A salmon Parr or Smolt... the water is fresh, from Kearney Lake in Bedford, a few meters downstream of the level control dam at the lake's north end. Thank you for your generous comment Wally - let the fish decide.

This is a very captivating image Bernie. The fern pattern on the rocks is amazing, I have never seen anything like this before. My eye is drawn to the reflection in the water and then up to the rocks, magical for sure.

Thank you Debra - I found this spot this afternoon - I look forward to returning as the season's progress.

It does look like a very special place, Bernie, and even though the plants and reflections from the plants are giving off some great colour, I find my focus goes straight to the rocks. The patterns in the rocks hold my eye for some time before I take in the rest of the scene. The serenity is somehow captured in the shadows.

Thank you Harold for sharing what makes it special for you. I am looking forward to the changes this little spot shows as the days move forward, leaves turn, ferns become brown, snow . . . . oh dear!

Description
June 24 - midsummer's day I found a new trail and followed it for a bit of a hike and exercise. And I was rewarded by this landscape. Not a huge 'epic' landscape that YouTuber Pro's put out but a landscape that fits me - quiet, serene, calm, peaceful and a delight for all the senses. I don't normally do this, but I would like to point out one feature I find ever so fascinating. Along the horizontal midline of the shot and some 'rocks'. About 1/3 of the way from the left a rock shows the pattern of shadows cast by the overhanging branches; another larger 'rock' up and to the left a bit shows more, and a smaller rock way over on the right has some. Interesting patterns, made more interesting by their reflections in the pool. Mid-summer magic - it's so fitting.
