Feeding time at my bird bath!

It has been pointed out to me that this photo is of family bonding time for a pair of Common Grackle. The brown bird’s glossy colors and bright yellow eye suggests that it is a female—so this appears to be a male feeding his mate. Juveniles are a browner overall with a dark eye as per the bird to the right.

Mama Grackle was so busy feeding her young at my bird bath in Ottawa, Ontario. The event was fun to photograph and I just happened upon the excitement.
