Heather Mellon

You captured her beauty perfectly here.. wonderful tones and detail. It seems like a hummer's life isn't always an easy one though..

Harold Fleming

Your right, Heather, although it looks like so much fun getting chased around.

Jenny Stevens

Terrific composition Harold. Great to see the hummer at rest !

Harold Fleming

Yes, Jenny! Every once in a while it's nice to get a look at the wings of the hummer when their not in motion.

Debra Plett

Super shot Harold. I too like how upright the hummingbird and the new branch are. Beautiful composition.

Harold Fleming

I notice most hummingbirds when they are alone and they have a branch or something to sit on, they will normally land facing the feeder. Not so when there is more than one because they have to watch their backs. Then again maybe she just liked the colour of the new growth.

Yves Langlois

Like very much the compo on that one. The bird standing straight up in front of the new growth doing the same. Nice. Love the green background as well.

Harold Fleming

They don't sit still for long, Yves, but they give a good photo when they do. Thank you very much.

Description
This female Rufous Hummingbird stopped on a branch next to her feeder. She did not feed though as she was aware she was going to be attacked by two other females.
