Bernie Ewing

Thank you Jeff - unfortunately they do not last long. I went back to this spot yesterday and there were no blooms.

Debra Plett

Beautiful flower and rich colour. Very nicely captured Bernie.

Bernie Ewing

Thank you Debra - I wish there were more of them and that they would stick around for a while longer.

Clifford Dupuis

great shot with neat lighting and perspective

Bernie Ewing

Thank you Clifford - the lighting was courtesy of dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy of branches and leaves overhead.

Harold Fleming

Not the first one I've seen in a photo, Bernie, but I can't remember seeing one in the wild. This is a good photo to show me what to look for. Very nice lighting!

Bernie Ewing

Thank you Harold - good luck hunting them down.

Yves Langlois

Really impressive Bernie. Just seing the picture I understand that the lighted flower is the only one thing of interest here. the background is out The flower is put on a stage as a super beauty, with great details and colours. Then I read the commentary, that tell exactly what the picture says. Thanks.

Bernie Ewing

Thank you Yves - the light from the sun was like a spotlight on the center of the flower and I was able to isolate it from the background.

Description
A previous post from Jane LeBlanc of NB highlighted the wild Rhodora Canadensis and I thought it looked like a flower in the woods behind us. So after a little research and some trekking through the woods, I found some. Thank you Jane for introducing me to a new one for the 'lift list'.
