Thank you Jenny.. yes it was tricky to get a good head shot but I finally got lucky :)
Great capture Heather, I love how she is tucked into the reeds protecting her nest. Also like the contrast between the new and old growth of cattails. Ver very nice.
Thank you so much Debra! I love that I was able to capture her right in the reeds protecting her nest. The females have such a stately sense about them and I like to think that comes through in this image too. I absolutely love these birds :)
Like a pro Heather. I love those shot where the subject is embeded in its natural nature. A good chalenge to focus the bird right through the cattails. You did it perfect. Appreciate the nice yellow on the head. I don't know how you got the cattails so white but it's magic.. Great shot.
Thank you very much Yves.. I agree with you that it's especially nice to picture them embedded in their natural habitat, something you do so well. Speaking of the cattails the lighter ones are bleached out looking because they're last year's growth. The few green spikes are this year's new growth just starting to come through.
You're right about the markings on the blackbird, Heather. You did a fine job here in difficult circumstances in bringing them out.
Thank you so much Harold. I had a few hits and misses getting this one. It looked to me like she came off the nest to stretch her wings and probably to see what all the fuss was about with her partner too. The hard part was getting a clear view of her head. I was really pleased to get this shot.
