A nice looking bird, Jane and you captured it well. Without the beak, the face is almost snakelike.

Description
This secretive heron type bird was seen on a walk today in St. George, N.B. With its striped neck, it will lift its beak up to the sky, sway from side to side, and mimic the grass around it to hide.
