Thank you Harold. I often shoot at close range with the 400. I was awared of the short DOF. but that short really surprises me.

Description
Here is an opportunity to realise how short is the depth of field with a 400mm focal length at close range. Even at F9 aperture (ISO 800 ), tweety bird just fit the depth of field. Any bigger bird would have not.
