What great captures and yes I think these Urchins are awesome. Your photos are clear and crisp...well done

Thank you for the feedback Clifford.

Thank you Harold. I have never had problems with variety - my partner Sue calls me Mr. Eclectic. But yes, sea urchins have their own sources of beauty that lead to opportunities for reflection and exploration.

Love the contrast in this image Bernie. The Urchin shell is so delicate and beautiful. It does remind me of a very fine crocheted pattern.

Thank you Debra. Yes, the moment taken to take a photo of a seemingly uninteresting subject can be revealing. A sea urchin has plenty of inner beauty.

Thank you Harold.

Very nice subject Bernie. Thanks to the philosopher for the great commentary. I appreciate that you are showing us a side of the urchin that we never see. The photo is perfect and I am glad you where there to capture it.

Bernie Ewing

Thank you Yves.

Description
Most would not consider a Sea Urchin a popular or particularly beautiful photo subject. But one day I found this bleached exo-skeleton of one that had probably been a seagull's lunch, judging by the size of the opening on its 'bottom' side. But in its demise, and decay, the Urchin reveals its inner beauty - the skeleton is almost lace-like, and the outer shell is equally exquisite with its neat rows of 'bumps'. Thought I would put them together so that you can enjoy something a little different on a Wednesday afternoon
