great capture of this beauty. The attention to detail in the bird with the rest of the frame obscure holds the viewers attention

Thanks for the feedback Clifford, appreciate your comments.

She stands out very nicely here Debra.. you captured her perfectly! I love the 'puffer' look of their chest and back feathers which seems to be unique to these particular birds, and how clearly it shows here. Great shot!

Debra Plett

Thank you Heather, they didn’t seem to be too afraid of people. Going to check on them again tomorrow.

Yves Langlois

Very beautyful shot Debra. The bird nice colours stands out nicely over the dark bokeh and the contrasting white stump. Good choice to show the back of the bird whith its nice wings patern.

Debra Plett

Your comments are always appreciated, thank you Yves. I like the back shot as well

Jenny Stevens

Thanks again Jeff, it was a bit of a gloomy and foggy day. Had trouble getting enough light.

Showing off! The males are reddish pink and gray. The females and immatures are grayish with tints of reddish orange or yellow on the head and rump. They all have dark gray wings marked by two white wingbars.
