Description
I had the good fortune to watch and photograph an American Mink over the course of a few visits to a location along the St Lawrence River this past Winter. It was really fun to watch it dive into open water and retrieve a variety of snacks that included Crayfish, Crappies ( an Invasive species) and even a frogs that it must have dug out of the mud at the bottom of the bay...it would dive, retrieve a food source, and run to shore to a cache or stash. Within a few minutes it would head back out along the frozen ice and repeat the whole process....I would spend a few hours at a time with it and it never seemed to mind my presence there with it.
