Nice capture that support the narrative. You are so good at that. The youngs still look anxious but they must be quite happy that mom came back on time to save the day. You caught mom in a good pretective pose.

You are very kind Yves. The mom was very close to the nest. Some people passing by told me that the vultures have been seen in the area over the last week. Hopefully they move on.

Excellent capture of the mother set to defend her young from what could have been a disastrous situation Debra! Beautiful details here and I appreciate the story behind the shot.

Thanks very much Heather, yes I was even a little concerned hoping the male Osprey would return sooner than he did.

Description
Five Turkey Vultures flew into the area. They circled high above the nest and surrounding area for about ten minutes. It did not take long before the Mother Osprey returned to the nest to protect the three young Osprey. She sounded her warning call as long as the vultures were in her neighborhood. The male Osprey returned to the nest just after the vultures disappeared. He dropped a fish into the nest and flew to the hydro pole to help protect the nest and area.
