Description
Venturing far out in the Dunes at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County Ontario, reveals an ancient landscape. Long before it became a national sensation the Dunes contained a large and mature White Cedar Bog where the ground was much more water saturated than now. Changing conditions over the last 100 years stranded these water loving giants causing them to die. Many of these Cedars were virgin forest and very large. Today, a few well rooted monuments stand until wind and time draw them back to the Earth.
