Description
Mother goose defending her gosling. This is a scene I often see in areas with high populations of geese. As some parents are unsuccessful, or can’t find a mate, the urge to parent takes over and they attempt to take a baby from other parents. Often these fights end up in the death of the young gosling as it’s a flurry of strong wings and body’s. In this case, the mother was successful in defending her gosling and it lived to see another day. Busy photo, but neat for showing behaviour.
