Description
This Eastern Screetch Owlette was seen to fledge from its nest a couple of days before I had the opportunity to visit the area where it was known to be seen. I discovered this little sweetheart during a heavy rain perched on a tiny limb. I couldn't resist the opportunity of a life time to photograph it. I spent a few minutes with it and moved along to allow the owlette to live its day and experience its first exposure to the elements. I wasn't too close, this image taken with a 600 mm and a 1.4 extender to allow for a non threatening encounter fore the owl and is cropped significantly.
