Description
We got a big surprise on February 22 (2020) when we were out birding at the east end of Ottawa. We found this Vesper Sparrow on someone's bird feeder. The Vesper Sparrow is an early migrant but this was a bit too early. We don't really expect them to return for another month. Although fragile-looking, this bird species can be quite hardy.
