Description
Male Northern Flicker feeding 3 hungry chicks. I had been trying to get this shot in my backyard for several years. The problem was how to get around the canopy of the big maple tree that was in the way of the perfect angle. This day I discovered a small hole that I could just barely see the nest and Papa showed up as I was still setting up.
