Peregrine Falcons are one of the most fearsome hunters of the skies. They are the fastest bird in the world, as they soar at great heights and with their fantastic vision will select a flying bird and then go into a stoop, reaching speeds of over 320 kph! Or they may fly low, scaring up birds that are feeding on shorelines. This is what this particular Peregrine did....I was photographing a flock of shorebirds at the south end of Rondeau Provincial Park when this falcon appeared out of nowhere and sent the shorebirds in every direction. One Sanderling did not make it to safety, and became the next meal for this raptor. If one looks closely at this bird in flight, you might be able to see the bird in the talons. It isn't the closest shot, but these birds are wary and did not let me get any closer, even in my kayak.

Thank-you Pat.....I agree that it is unfortunate that seeing images in a larger size is not an option, but perhaps CG is working on that :-)
