A Raccoon searching for supper in sunset light along the shores of Roberts Bay, BC. It is not looking at me per se, but using it's tactile front paws to search the beach for crustaceans (more than likely shore crabs, by the sound of the crunching it made when it found something).

Absolutely lovely capture in the golden light. I love Raccoons and find it so sad they are considered vermin. They have the most sensitive hands in the animal kingdom. Like you say, they actually "see' the food with their hands.

Wonderful tones and contrasting textures here. I love the eye contact and the soft ripples he creates in his search for lunch. A beautiful capture!
