Wildlife in the house

by Allen_Woodliffe from Chatham CA on 11 Feb 2017

This is the overwintering stage, a pupa, of a Cabbage White butterfly. We have a garden that produced kale and other goodies well into the fall. Sometimes when we bring the produce into the house, the caterpillars that escaped notice out in the garden come in with it. A few days ago, my wife spotted this pupa under a window ledge. I had to photograph it....:-)
