Green Heron

Description

I was out with a friend for a walk in a local nature preserve. Its not huge, but it can be a huge draw for birds, ducks and other waterfowl. I was hoping to get some shots of the elusive wood duck. But today, it remained elusive. I was rounding the corner and was checking out a little pond off the side of the path. And just sitting there calm as could be was this little heron. I was able to get many great shots of him, he wasn't bothered by me. But I always move slow and easy so as not too spook the bird. This was the first time I have seen a Green Heron. I had to google it when I got home.
