Description
Nature photographer Malkolm Boothroyd slowly positioning himself to get the perfect shot of a King eider drake in breeding plumage. This particular King eider chose to visit the stream behind our field camp one night after super, and didn’t seem to mind the paparazzi. Many amazing waterfowl and shorebirds flock to the arctic tundra every year to breed, which is why documenting their arrivals times and numbers is so important to the conservation of these arctic species. Coats Island, Nunavut, June 2016.
