Description
This weekend was an amazing time in the Park. I got to spend time with many friends of mine as well as spending time with the wildlife! :D We got to photograph so much wildlife with mostly one goal in mind, the cow and calf. We did some boating, hiking and lots of photographing. On the boat we spotted several bird species and spotted a loon on it's nest. Once to short I waited for another friend, who was late for a really good reason, a little bear!!! :D We waited at the last known location of the bear and there was nothing. I wanted to take the boat to my friends house so I left and only made it a couple hundred feet before seeing the little bear. It was grazing along the edit of the highway. I pulled well enough away from here into a parking lot to not cause a traffic jam and slowly walked towards along the other side of the road. Watching the bear for a while with no cars noticing me or the bear. After a while she climbed a tiny, tiny tree which could not support her weight. I then flipped my camera to video mode to record the event. After the tree mishap she want the grass which is always greener on the other side of the road. I walked into the middle of the highway and waved people to stop so that she could safely cross the highway. Once on the other side of the road she just kept grazing the day away. I dropped the boat off and went to do another drive down the corridor and there she was again! I have to thank the wardens for doing such a wonderful job!!!! It must be hard to have to not only protect people from wildlife but also wildlife from the people. He was super nice about everything and let all the tourists capture some quick images of her before he scared her away from the highway to protect her from cars! Thank you again whoever you are warden! :D :D I am happy to know she is somewhere in the forest enjoying her days!!! If you are interested in having a private lesson or a guide for wildlife in Algonquin Provincial Park feel free to email me for more information. Ps On water loon and chicks workshops are starting very soon!!! cowboywithacamera@gmail.com www.cowboywithacamera.com ©2016 - Wesley Liikane - Cowboy with a Camera
