Description
Moose Swimming in the Mist First I will talk about the image then I will talk about the event that occurred during the early morning hours. While out this week I have been going to several active moose locations and calling for both bull's and cow's. The one night at a location I got a very good response and heard the cow cross the road and enter the marsh. With no sleep, as I was also shooting northern lights while calling moose, I went back and waited for good light. Just as the sun crested the trees and dropped that golden light the cow moose came out and swam across the pond in the mist. What a sight it was with everything just working out perfect. We waited for the bull moose to come out and the next thing you know there he is too! :D While working with moose you should keep a safe distance from them and try to stay near a larger tree for safety. These moose were very cooperative and luckily many people are getting the privilege to see these majestic creature up close and personal. My Thanksgiving in Algonquin Park started off very early. I entered the park in the middle of the night stopping at various locations to give some howls and call for moose while enjoying the beauty of the night. I came to the corner of Highway 60 near km36 and spotted a car parked in the ditch. When approaching slowly I noticed the vehicle had been in a roll over. Right away I could see blood on the persons hand so I began to ask him some questions to see if he was alright. He did not answer them right away, no he took an ice tea from my seat and began to chug it trying to cover the alcohol smell I guess... He then answered the concussion test good. Then the person went to the car and stashed something in the bush, later the wardens and police found it to be drugs... Drinking and driving is so STUPID and dangerous I don't know why people do this let alone someone who works in the PARK! I will not disclose all the information and I am not positive on how much the person had had to drink but I really hope not to see this person working in the park AGAIN. I am still in shock that the person who was drinking and driving, rolled over, stashed drugs while being in Algonquin Park was actually someone who worked in the park.... :( I love the people who work in Algonquin Park and I think of many of them as friends and family and I would be devastated if some idiot drinking and driving hurt one them. Do the right thing and don't drink and drive! I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend! Thanks for viewing and feel free to share.
