Description
On Lac De Gras, Diavik Diamond Mines installed four 2.3MW Enercon E70 wind turbines to offset 10% of their annual diesel consumption. This is the first large scale wind farm in the Northwest Territories. This is estimated to reduce their annual consumption of diesel by 5 million litres and reduce their carbon footprint by 12,000 tonnes per year. (Picture taken from the PKC dyke looking southeast. Time approximately 1930 hrs. Can see three out of 4 turbines.)
