Remembrance Day isn't the only time Canadians remember war veterans. There are places, street names and memorials all around us honouring those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
In honour of the 100th anniversary of the First World War, we are launching a new photo contest where Photo Club members can share their images of landmarks, monuments, memorials and place names that came out of that war. From now until Nov. 18, 2014, you can upload your images of First World War sites, memorabilia and commemorative events from across Canada.
Each entrant who submits at least one photo will be entered in a random draw for the chance to win one of five prize packs, including a one-year subscription to Canadian Geographic magazine.
These Rules and Regulations are final on all matters relating to the Remembering the First World War Photo Contest (the “Contest”). By applying, all entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and Regulations.
The sponsor (“Contest Sponsor”) of the Contest is Canadian Geographic Enterprises (Suite 200, 1155 Lola Street, Ottawa, ON K1K 4C1).
To be eligible to enter the Contest or win a prize, you must be a permanent resident of Canada and not an employee of, a member of the immediate family of, or domiciled with an employee of any division of Canadian Geographic, The Royal Canadian Geographical Society or their subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest or to win a prize.
All photographs entered in the Contest must be of Canadian content (i.e. taken in Canada).
Participation in the Contest constitutes Entrants’ full and unconditional agreement to abide by these Contest Rules and Regulations and the Contest Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
*Legal considerations require restricting the Contest to Canadian residents (our apologies to members residing outside the country.)
Personal Information collected from Entrants by the Contest Sponsor will be used by the Contest Sponsor or its affiliates to administer the Contest and in connection with the publication of photographs. Neither the Contest Sponsor nor its affiliates will share personal information relating to Entrants with any third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the Contest or as may be required by law. The Contest Sponsor will not attempt to contact the Entrant for any other purpose than to administer the Contest or as may be required by law unless they have opted-in to receive relevant communications from the Contest Sponsor.
